Starting from 06:15am 5th August, 2025 up to 10:00am this morning, the situation at the frontlines along Preah Vihear and Uddor Meanchey Provinces remain calm and steady. Cambodian military forces are standing strong and fully vigilant in fulfilling their duties.Cambodia remains fully committed to respecting and implementing the Ceasefire agreement achieved on July 28 2025, in Putrajaya, Malaysia.2. The delegation of the Secretariat of the General Border Committee of Cambodia-Thailand (GBC), led by Major General Sin Sokha, Chairman of the Secretariat (GBC), continued its meeting to further discuss measures to enhance the effectiveness and credibility of the ceasefire agreement’s implementation, as well as to strengthen mutual trust and confidence with the Thai side.It is also noted that the GBC Secretariat Meeting commenced from 4 to 6 August 2025, and the Extraordinary Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) will be held on 7 August 2025.3. The Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia reaffirms its full commitment to the ceasefire agreement reached through the leading efforts of His Excellency Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America, and His Excellency Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, with the active participation of the People’s Republic of China. This ceasefire, widely welcomed by the international community, reflects the shared aspiration for peace and stability in the region. As a responsible and peace-loving nation, Cambodia has strictly observed in good faith the ceasefire terms and conditions, choosing dialogue and cooperation over confrontation and conflict. Cambodia’s steadfast compliance with the agreement demonstrates our respect for the tireless efforts of our international partners and our earnest desire to contribute to a lasting peace and stability in the region.However, it is deeply regrettable that at 11 a.m. 4 August 2025, the Thai armed forces, accompanied by heavy machinery such as excavators, entered An Ses area within Cambodian sovereign territory, and even laid barbed wires, despite the strong objections from our Cambodian armed forces. It is also worth noting that Cambodia recently arranged a visit by foreign Defence attachés to those locations on July 30, 2025, and this is a clear demonstration that this location is under Cambodian sovereignty, under the control of Cambodian armed forces after the ceasefire came into effected at midnight on 28 July 2025. This Thai act obviously constitutes a flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement and poses a grave threat to peace and security along the border between the two countries, as well as to the wider region as a whole.4. Cambodia calls on the international community — particularly the partner countries that have worked tirelessly to help achieve this hard-won ceasefire agreement and wished also to see this truce fully and effectively implemented and demanded that Thailand immediately stop its aggressive actions as well as strictly respected in good faith the international law, especially Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.The Cambodian Ministry of National Defense urges Thailand to respecting and implementing all the terms and conditions of the Ceasefire agreement, not just word but through concrete actions.Thailand must stop hostilities, remove the barbed wires, and withdraw all its machineries from Cambodia’s sovereign territory and the Thai side could not use any pretext to hide the truth.

ប្រជាពលរដ្ឋ និងពលករខ្មែរមកពីប្រទេសថៃ ៥ ២៩៣នាក់ បានដឹងពីឱកាសការងារដ៏សម្បូរបែបនៅកម្ពុជា ខណៈ ១ ០០៦នាក់ ទទួលបានការងារធ្វើភ្លាមៗ

ភ្នំពេញ៖ នៅថ្ងៃទី៤ ខែសីហា ឆ្នាំ២០២៥នេះ ទីភ្នាក់ងារជាតិមុខរបរ និងការងារ (NEA) នៃក្រសួងការងារ និងបណ្តុះបណ្តាលវិជ្ជាជីវៈ បានរៀបចំវេទិកាការងារនៅទីតាំងផ្សេងៗគ្នាចំនួន ១៨ឃុំ ក្នុងខេត្តគោលដៅចំនួន៥ ដែលបាននាំយកឱកាសការងារសរុបចំនួន ៨ ៨៨២កន្លែង ទៅផ្សព្វផ្សាយជូនប្រជាពលរដ្ឋ ជាពិសេស បងប្អូនពលករខ្មែរ ដែលទើបត្រឡប់មកពីប្រទេសថៃចំនួន ៥ ២៩៣នាក់ និងមានអ្នកទទួលបានការងារភ្លាមៗចំនួន ១ ០០៦នាក់។ការផ្សព្វផ្សាយឱកាសការងារនេះ ធ្វើឡើងនៅក្នុងឃុំចំនួន១៨ នៃខេត្តគោលដៅចំនួន៥ រួមមាន ខេត្តកំពង់ឆ្នាំង ខេត្តពោធិ៍សាត់ ខេត្តបាត់ដំបង ខេត្តសៀមរាប និងខេត្តតាកែវ។ ក្នុងឱកាសនោះដែរ ក្រុមការងារក៏បានផ្សព្វផ្សាយពីការអប់រំបណ្តុះបណ្តាលបច្ចេកទេសនិងវិជ្ជាជីវៈជូនដល់អ្នកចូលរួមផងដែរ៕

Pen Bona, Government Spokesperson:1. In a Royal letter dated August 4, 2025, His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, stated that, in light of the serious violations and threats to the country’s territorial integrity posed by the Thai Army, and in accordance with the spirit of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Cambodia, I hereby authorize Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, a five-star General of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Chairman of the Supreme Privy Council to the King, to communicate with Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on military affairs, national defense, and the protection of Cambodian national sovereignty and territorial integrity.2. In this context, His Majesty The King expressed His deep admiration for the courage and bravery of all Cambodian troops who have valiantly fought on the battlefields for national defense and the protection of our people. His Majesty also expressed His deep admiration for the citizens nationwide who have shown a strong spirit of national solidarity and unity under the wise leadership of the Royal Government led by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet as Prime Minister, in an ongoing struggle across various battlefields, including military, diplomatic, political, and legal fronts, to defend the nation, safeguard our national sovereignty, and protect our Cambodian citizens’ safety and lives.3. Shortly after receiving the royal authorisation, Samdech Techo Hun Sen wrote on his official Facebook page in response to the Thai media report claiming he violated the Cambodian Constitution by engaging in the military affairs. Samdech Techo Hun Sen clearly stated that there should be no surprise, as a country’s leader has enjoyed the full right to defend the country from the invaders. Samdech Hun Sen further questioned the Thai Media’s critics : “Why are they so afraid of his involvement in the military affairs up to the point of making comments that interfere in Cambodia’s internal affairs?”4. The Senate President emphasized that, having served as Prime Minister for over 38 years, he possesses more experiences than those critics and affirmed that there is no power struggle between the Royal Government and the Military in Cambodia. He encouraged the Cambodian people to have continued confidence in his ability to backstop the Cambodian Government on Military Affairs.

Press Briefing – Update on the implementation of the immediate and unconditional ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and ThailandKeynote Address by H.E. Chum Sounry, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Internatioinal Cooperation (MFAIC):07:00AM, August 5, 20251. The MFAIC categorically rejects baseless accusations against Cambodia made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand during its briefing to the Diplomatic Corps in Bangkok on 4 August 2025.The MFAIC wishes to clarify as follows:- Cambodia did not start the conflict. On the contrary, it has consistently exercised maximum restraint in the face of Thai military provocations. The border tensions stem from Thailand’s repeated incursions into Cambodian territory in violation of existing agreements, including the 2000 MoU and international law.- Thailand’s claim of self-defense is unfounded. The Cambodian armed forces have only acted in proportionate response to protect its sovereignty and citizens following cross-border incursions and unprovoked artillery fire by the Thai side.- Thailand’s allegations of Cambodian “disinformation” are an attempt to shift blame and avoid accountability for its own ceasefire violations.- Cambodia’s conduct remains aligned with international law and international humanitarian principles. The Cambodian armed forces have never targeted civilian populations as falsely alleged by Thailand.- Cambodia remains committed to the ceasefire agreement reached during the Special Meeting on 28 July 2025 in Malaysia and will continue to engage in good-faith for its full implementation through ASEAN mechanisms.2. Meanwhile, the MFAIC strongly condemns the continued provocations by the Thai armed forces and urges Thailand:- To fully respect Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, in accordance with the UN Charter, the ASEAN Charter and fundamental principles of international law;- To immediately cease all military provocations and unilateral actions that jeopardize the security of civilians and risk further escalation;- To match its public commitments to peace with credible actions on the ground by faithfully implementing the ceasefire agreement.- To refrain from further escalation and disinformation that threaten the fragile peace and stability along the border of the two countries.3. Cambodia reaffirms its unwavering commitment to resolving all outstanding issues through peaceful means, in accordance with international law, the 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), and the ceasefire agreement.
